Ever Thought about Becoming a Firefighter? – Our department has fifteen active firefighters, but we could always use more. Have you ever thought about volunteering? We would love to have you join us. We will train you, provide you with personal protective gear and equip you with the best equipment. You don’t have to be in your twenties to be a firefighter. We have several “senior citizens” and some of our most active firefighters are ladies. Our firefighting experience varies from a few months to thirty-five years. We would love to have you join us in our mission of providing safety and support to the residents of the Greenwood community. You don’t have to enter burning buildings to be a firefighter. There are many other jobs that are equally important. To be a firefighter you must be at least eighteen and be willing to attend training sessions. If there is enough interest, we will also sponsor a group of junior firefighters, to qualify for the junior firefighter program you must be at least sixteen. If you are interested…please contact us!
